Sliding fun at Hannah's birthday

We went to Hannah's 4th birthday party this morning at an inflatable jumping place. Brinley absolutely fell in love with sliding because it goes really fast. Of course, she didn't want to go alone, so she charmed anyone who would climb up there to slide with her (including the person working the party!) Luckily, her Aunt Marian took most of the rides with her. She was completely exhausted after an hour of sliding pretty much non-stop!

I was in charge of making Hannah's sponge Bob cake. My hands are still numb from piping all the icing out! I now understand why bakeries charge so much to make those speciality cakes, it is for all the labor you have to put in! I did enjoy being creative, I didn't realize sponge bob had so many colors and would be so complicated! Anyways, here is a picture of my finished project...I must admit it was hard seeing people eat him after I put in 5 hours creating him!!!

President's day at the park

Since Jason had today off work and this weekend was a complete washout, we took Brinley and Rylee to the park by our house for a little sunshine and outdoors fun. Jason bought Brinley a kite for Valentines day and he was anxious to try it out......

Of course, it didn't take long for Brinley to figure out how to pick up the kite and start running with it to make it get in the air! Before we knew it she was flying it all by herself without any help from us! Some gusts of wind even knocked her down while she was holding on to it!

Daddy also got Brinley practicing her soccer skills, but she quickly stopped kicking the ball so she could do her favorite thing at the park.....SWING!

The park started to get crowded, so we had to tie Rylee up. She gets way to excited when other people are around and she is too big to let her run loose! So she spent the rest of the morning watching everybody from her favorite spot too!

Happy Valentines Day

We hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines day! Jason and I already celebrated our valentines day this past weekend. His parents got us a night stay at South Shore Harbor Hotel for Christmas, so they came and babysitted Saturday night while we went out to dinner. We ate at a new restaurant in Kemah, which was absolutely delicious, including a desert we had to order at the beginning of our meal because it takes 30 minutes to prepare! We walked around for a little while afterwards (mostly to walk off being miserable!). The next morning, Jason had a soccer game so I got to order some room service for breakfast and then watch the movie Juno. It was a great morning!

Here is a picture of miss priss this morning before she went to mothers day out (she is waving to a car passing by...her favorite thing to do in the front yard!)

Update on our busy lives

We haven't really done anything spectacular these past couple of weeks, just stayed really busy! We have had many playdates, which has been a necessity since the weather has been so unpredictable. I have been cleaning out my house and trying to get more organized. I have gone through the tons of toys Brinley has and made a pile to be put in the attic. Here is what Brinley did when she saw the pile.....
My little climber can conquer anything! I think she didn't want these toys put away!

Jason finally ended his search for a Nintendo Wii. The search started when my brother got one and Jason played the golf game and scored a hole in one on the second hole. So of course, we had to get one! After 2 weeks of searching every store, he got a tip that a shipment would be coming in on sunday morning. So he got up early and finally got one. Our superbowl sunday was spent playing the Wii and watching the Giants win. I must admit the Wii is really fun to play, but my arms were sore the next morning! Brinley loves watching her daddy play and I can tell she can't wait to play, but it is too hard for her right now.
