Easter Extravaganza!!!

We started our Easter celebration on Thursday with a party and egg hunt with Brinley's friends from MDO. They had a lot of fun dying eggs, hunting the eggs and playing at the park.

Friday, we spent a few hours at the zoo and then went to get my car (see picture below!) Saturday, we attended the 2nd birthday party of one of her friends from MDO. Brinley ran like crazy the entire time! She loved jumping on the moonwalk, playing in her big playroom and eating!!! She smelled like a goat when we left and took a very long nap that afternoon!!!

Saturday evening, after a nice dinner with my parents, we dyed Easter eggs for the Easter bunny.
We woke up early Sunday morning and hunted the eggs the Easter bunny had hidden for us. We then headed over to my brother's house for lunch and another egg hunt. Brinley was really becoming a pro at this egg hunting!!!!

After spending the afternoon at my brothers, we headed to Jason's parents house for dinner and yet another egg hunt!!!!! We don't have any pictures from that hunt because we were too tired by the end of the day and figured we had enough egg hunt pictures for this year! Overall, we had a wonderful Easter and trying to come down off our sugar highs today!

A NEW CAR!!!!

After 8 1/2 years of driving my 4 Runner, my wonderful hubby bought me a new car yesterday!!! It is a 2008 GMC Acadia and the color is midnight blue. I LOVE IT!!!! I must admit I got a little teary when we drove away and had to leave my 4 Runner there (a lot of memories in that car), but I absolutely love all the new gadgets I get play with! Thank you honey!!!

I will post a picture once I remember to take it during the day (I only remember at night when it is too dark!!)

Bunnies, Cows and Zebras....Oh my!

We started the week off by going to the mall and visiting the Easter bunny. After our anti-Santa experience, I was skeptic on whether she would sit and have her picture taken. So, we sat and watched him for 10 minutes with no problems, then he turned and waved to her......she started screaming and ran away! After we got her calmed down, we realized we weren't even going to get her near him! So, we took her to play with the interactive floor they have at the mall. Here is a video of her enjoying that! Sorry it is a bit blurry, but I took it with my cell phone!

Yesterday, we headed out to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It is the worlds largest rodeo and I loved going every year growing up as a kid. They have a massive carnival, lots of animals raised by FFA students, interactive displays for the kids, rodeo and musical performers. I was watching the news at the beginning of the week and they were showing clips from the rodeo and Brinley kept running up to the tv yelling "MOO!" when they showed a cow. So, we decided to take her and let her enjoy the moo's! She loved the petting zoo (which had calves, goats, pigs, zebras, sheep, and ponies), watching the pig races, and looking at all the animals. I think she said Moo about a 1000 times because she said it every time she saw a cow! After seeing all the sights, we enjoyed some bar-b-que (an absolute must at the rodeo!) and headed home. Brinley passed out as soon as we got in the car from all the excitement and sun....it was 87 degrees!

I thought Rylee was big.....

My brother and sister in-law, in-law (does that make sense? Jason's brother is married to his sister...) ANYWAYS!!! They come over a few weeks ago and brought their 1 year old puppy, Max. I thought Rylee was a big dog at 65 pounds....Max made her look like a chiauaua! They had fun on their doggie play date!

Weekend in Dallas

Since Jason and his Dad were going to be working on hanging new siding on our house, Brinley and I headed up to Dallas to visit Amanda and Kevin and see their new house! We woke up Saturday morning and drove to Dallas. I woke up with a horrible cold, I think because it was 75 degrees Thursday and 40 degrees Friday!!! Needless to say I drove with my Kleenex box in the passenger seat! Brinley rode really well. This was my first time to travel with her by myself! For the first 2 hours, she looked out the window, ate, and pointed to "coos" (aka- cow). After a brief stop for gas, diaper change, and stretching of our legs, we started the next stage of our trip. I had borrowed my mom's portable DVD player for the car and bought 101 Dalmatians, so that occupied Brinley for the rest of the trip!

We got to Dallas around lunchtime, so we had lunch and headed to the Dallas Aquarium. Brinley absolutely loved the aquarium (even though she missed her nap!). She oohed everything, especially the penguins and sting rays! She was also excited to see the jaguar (or as she screamed, "kitty"!). After the aquarium, we headed to the mall to eat dinner and pick out a flower girl dress (Brinley is going to be a flower girl in Amanda/Kevin's wedding in June). We got back to their house and Brinley passed out from exhaustion....she didn't even mind she was sleeping in her pack n play! By this time, I was extremely sick and Amanda was so sweet to get out at 10 at night to get me some NyQuil!!!

Sunday, we got up and went to look for shoes to match the flower girl dress. We grabbed a quick lunch and headed back to Houston! Brinley slept for 3 1/2 of the 4 hour drive! I think she was worn out from all the excitement! We got home around Dinner time and have been taking it easy today. I am feeling a little better, but I am still relying on drugs to keep me breathing!

Here are some pictures from our wonderful time in Dallas!

7 random facts about me

I have been tagged by Stephanie to list 7 random facts about myself. Before I did this, I thought I was a pretty normal person......

1. I love ketchup but I will not put it on hamburgers or hot dogs, but I will dip my hamburger or
hot dog in ketchup. I also cannot stand to eat food with chunks!!! When I cook, I chop my onions and tomato's so finely you can barely see them. If I eat somewhere else, I will push the chunky parts off to the side!

2. I refuse to eat the colored chips at mexican food restaurants (red/green/purple are not
natural colors for chips!)

3. I must have a blanket on when I sit on the couch, even if it is 100 degrees outside. I have also
had the same blanket since I was 5, it is the ugliest but warmest blanket ever!!! I hide it when people come over!

4. I will not get into water I can't see to the bottom of. This is why I love swimming pools and
mexico! I have only gotten in to my ankles at the beach that is 20 minutes away from my
house!

5. I can easily tune things out if I am concentrating on something (must be from teaching 5 year
olds!) Jason does not appreciate this and says I will give him an aneurysm one day! So when I
am ignoring him, he screams "ANEURYSM!!"

6. When I was teaching, I made sure my desk was immaculate before I left to go home everyday. Even if it meant staying until 8 pm to get it cleaned. I thought it was easier to start the day with a clean desk then to let it pile up. My co-workers called me anal....I like to think of it as organized! They always appreciated it when they came to me for something they lost!!!!

7. I was on a state champion softball team when I was 12 years old. The tournament was in
Tyler, Tx. It rained all day saturday, so we had to play at midnight, 2am, 4am and 8am to
make sure the tournament was finished on time. We slept in cars in between games!

You never realize how odd some of your behaviors are until you have to write them down!!!

Very busy weekend

We had a very busy weekend around our household! It all started Friday morning with a play date with Brinley's friends from mothers day out, we then headed into Baytown to see Mamaw and Pops. We went out to dinner and went to the high school soccer game after that! I think we got home around 9pm (we left the house at 9am that morning!!!!)

Saturday morning I got up at 4am and drove 4 1/2 hours to Canton with some girlfriends of mine to do some serious shopping! It was so much fun having a girls day! Plus, I got lots of cute clothes for Brinley to wear this summer! So, daddy was in charge of Brinley all day Saturday. They went to the park, played, napped and then went to his uncle's house for more playing! I got home around 10pm from Canton.....and went right to sleep!

On Sunday, while Jason went to play in his soccer game, Brinley and I attended a bridal shower in League City followed by a baby shower in Baytown! During our shower tour, Brinley started to get a fever. By the time we got home Sunday evening she was throwing up and running a high fever! She still isn't back to herself this morning, but at least the vomiting stopped!

It was a whirlwind weekend and I think this picture shows how tired we all are from this weekend.....
