Flower girl Debut!

We spent the weekend in Fayetteville Arkansas for the wedding of Amanda and Kevin. We left Friday morning for the airport after dropping Rylee off at the kennel. This is the first time we have had to kennel her but since every single person on both side of our families were out of town this weekend (what are the odds??) we had no choice! I felt so guilty about having to leave her in a strange place, I cried the entire way to the airport....could have been the pregnacny hormones too!

We got the airport and waited an hour for our delayed plane to arrive, then once we got on the plane it started to rain. Gotta love those summer time storms that pop out of nowhere! After another hour of waiting on the plane (ps- not fun with a two year old!) we took off. Brinley really enjoyed taking off and watching the land getting smaller and smaller. She tolerated flying for about 30 mintutes before she wanted to move around. So the rest of the hour flight was pretty miserable of trying to contain her to our tiny area. Once we were on the ground, we had to wait 30 minutes in the rental car line (seems they were the only company that had cars available to rent!!!)

By this time we were running 2 1/2 hours late and drove like crazy to the hotel so we could unpack, get dressed (no time to shower) and head to the rehearsal at the church 40 minutes away! When we got to the hotel, we noticed our bags and clothes were soaked (evidently they didn't load the bags and kept them out in the rain while we waited for it to stop!)

The wedding was GORGEOUS! Amanda was stunning and the all glass chapel in the mountains they had the ceremony in was breathe taking. Brinley did not make it down the aisle, she got a 1/4 of the way and stopped to see why everyone was looking at her. Then she saw my mom and ran to her! The reception was on the University of Arkansas campus. The food was delicious, and Brinley had a great time dancing to the band. We had a great time and passed out with exhaustion that night!

Sunday morning, we took Brinley for a walk around campus, took some pictures, and showed her my name on the senior walk. It was great being back on campus. So much has changed but yet all the familiar sites are still there. The weather was wonderful with highs in the low 80's and lows in the 60's and breezes! It felt great not to sweat when you walk outside for once!

The flight home was just as eventful as flying out. We got on the plane on time but as soon as everyone was buckled in they told us we had a hour delay due to rain in Houston. Thank goodness they let us get off the plane this time. Brinley got that extra time to run around and release some energy! Brinley sat a little better on the flight home because I think she was worn out!

Here are some pictures from our trip.

Oh baby...number 2!

I am 12 weeks pregnant with Smith baby number two! The baby is due January 2. Jason would rather us have it December 31, for tax purposes...LOL! We are all very excited and can't wait to see how Brinley is as a big sister. As nurturing as she is to her baby dolls, I don't think we will have a problem. So far, I have been feeling ok. No morning sickness, but the exhaustion is killing me! I thought it would be easier this time around since I am not working, but I guess chasing a 2 year old (in one month!) is harder than chasing 22 five year olds!!

I went to the dr Friday and she had to to an ultrasound because she had a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat. Once the ultrasound started all we saw was a very active baby flipping, and moving its hands and feet continually. This went on for 10 minutes which is why she couldn't find the heartbeat, the baby kept moving around! Looks like we have another very active child on our hands.....

Reunion, Recital, and Fathers Day

This past weekend was extremely busy for us! It was our 10 year reunion from graduating high school. Nicki, Melody and myself have been working on planning it since September, so it was nice for it to finally be over! The festivities started Friday night with a cocktail hour at Porch Swing Pub in Houston. It was great to see everyone and get the memory juices flowing! Since Jason had been in Canada all week and flying back late that evening, I went solo, but it was a lot of fun!
After getting in late Friday night, we all woke up early Saturday morning. Jason went to play golf with high school buddies in town for the reunion, while Brinley and I headed off to Reese's dance recital. Brinley absolutely loved watching all the dancers. She sat in my lap for an hour without moving (which is rare for her!) After each dance finished, she would clap and say "more" very loudly. When it was Reese's turn she got so excited, waved and yelled "hi". The 2nd hour of the recital she got antsy, but since it was the tap portion she stood in the aisle next to my seat and imitated the girls tapping! I guess we will have to put this girl in dance when she is 3!
After leaving Brinley with my parents, I came home to get ready for the reunion. We had such a good time. It was almost like we graduated yesterday because everyone just started talking, laughing, and dancing like no time had gone by at all. The only difference was we could buy our own alcohol now instead of having someone buy it for you...LOL! It was really great seeing people I hadn't seen since we graduated. So the evening was full of picture taking, laughing uncontrollably, dancing, and walking down memory lane. It was a fun evening and I am glad everything worked out, but I will gladly hand the torch over to someone else to plan the 15 year reunion!

Me and Jason all dressed up!
Me and Nicki (we have known each other since Kindergarten!)
me and Melody (I think this is picture number 3,056 taken together...LOL)

After another late night getting in, we woke up Sunday morning and headed over to my brothers house for fathers day and to pick up Brinley. We ate a yummy lunch, homemade ice cream and swam for the afternoon. We came home, took a nap and got take out for dinner! No pictures from yesterday due to sheer exhaustion!

Waterbugs

We have been doing nothing but swimming the past two weeks! Brinley loves the water, it is hard to get her out. We have been swimming at our neighborhood pool, the YMCA, and my brother's house (they just got a gorgeous pool put in their backyard)! I am enjoying finally getting my tan back (I have been pasty for the past few years!) and even with 50 SPF sunblock, Brinley is becoming a brown berry...guess she is going to have her daddy's skin tone. With the temperatures already in the high 90's and heat index around 100-105, I think we will be spending a lot of time in the water this summer!

On a fun note, Jason and I have our 10 year high school reunion this weekend. I can't believe it has been 10 years already! I can't believe Jason and I have been together for 10 years (we started dating the summer after high school)! Time sure does fly!!!!
