Monkeys everywhere!

This household loves its monkeys! Last night, we went to the library for the Curious George meet and greet. Brinley loves the Curious George books, especially the man with the "yeyyow hat"!

Clayton's nursery is done in monkey's and lately he has noticed the monkey on the border above his changing table. So every time we change his diaper, this is how he reacts!

It is his new best friend! As you can tell his arms and legs are very active. He can scoot himself off blankets and all the way down to the end of his crib when he really gets going!

3 months old and strawberry picking

On Wednesday, Clayton was 3 months old! He weighs around 12 lbs and is a very active, happy little boy. You love to lay under your activity mat and box your friends. Now that the weather is warming up, you don't cry in your baths anymore. You love to "talk" to anyone who will smile at you and make eye contact. Many people have commented on how they have never heard a baby coo as much as you do....I don't know if I should start worrying now about the endless amount of talking you will do when you are older! You are sleeping 7-9 hours a night and love watching your sister run around!

We took Clayton to get his first professional pictures made today. Here is our little man at 3 months old!

After pictures, we headed to Froberg Fruit and Vegetable Farm so Brinley could pick some strawberries. It was a gorgeous day and Brinley had so much fun picking the strawberries and eating them when we got home..YUM!

She was very careful about picking the right colored strawberries!

We ran into Brinley's friend Maddy there!

Look at all the strawberries I picked mom!

birthdays, rodeo and rolling!

We started out our busy weekend by celebrating my mom's birthday by eating dinner at the House of Blues in downtown Houston. After dinner, we walked over to Discovery Green park where Brinley and Reese had a great time playing. For some strange reason, our camera stopped working after taking this picture, so no other pictures from our birthday celebration!
Sunday, we went to Marian's piano recital...which we learned is not a good place for a 2 year with no volume control :) We then headed over to the Smith's to celebrate Jason's grandfather's 77th birthday. No pictures because we still can't figure what is wrong with the camera and our little camera wasn't charged.

Tuesday, Brinley, Clayton and I went and met Jason for lunch at his work and then headed to the Houston Rodeo. Brinley was so excited to go and woke up that morning asking when she could ride a neigh! When we got there, her eyes were so big and she ran everywhere! We were there from 2pm to 7:30! She was a trooper, having no nap, and Clayton did great as well. She loved the animals...when I told her to come look at the chickens, she asked "mommy, I eat?". The person who was handling the chickens was almost in tears. I guess she thought of chicken nuggets..that's my girl! She was tall enough this year to enjoy the rides at the carnival. She is quite the daredevil and we had to say no to a few rides she wanted to do, just because they seemed to rough for her, but she was persistent in asking!

Brinley and Clayton ready to rodeo

The first thing we had to do was ride the neighs, she would have done it 100 times had we let her!

She walked right up to the cow to shake her hand, this makes me so happy that we may actually get a good picture with the Easter bunny this year...you can visit past blogs about her fear of easter bunny and santa!

Brinley our little cowgirl! The Longhorn started to move and she got the funniest look on her face.
Clayton wasn't too impressed with the rodeo, he would rather play with his friend!

Once we got home from the rodeo, I layed Clayton down on his blanket on the floor to stretch out because he had been in the car seat or held all day long. After a few minutes, he rolled over! I have tried to get it on video but have been unsuccessful, so keep an eye out for it!

Clayton and his bear

Jason's company sent a belated welcome to the world present to Clayton this week, a huge bear! When we had Brinley, she got a huge pink dog that now lays by her bed and she loves to hide under when it's bath time! Here are some pictures of him with his new buddy....Brinley is breaking it in for him by dancing with it, riding it and sitting with it on her couch!

I think he liked the soft fur, because he was just smiling away!

Of course, Brinley had to get in on the picture action!

I will have lots to post next week as we are celebrating my mom's birthday tomorrow and heading the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Wednesday. The rodeo is my all time favorite thing to do in Houston. Brinley had so much fun last year, so I can't wait to see how she enjoys it this year. She is already watching the news coverage and keeps asking to ride the neighs (horses)!
