Two year old pictures and Stats

We have had a busy week! I took Brinley to her 2 year old appointment. She weighed 29 1/2 pounds (80th percentile) and was 35 1/2 inches tall (94th percentile). I guess this girl is going to have her Daddy's height! She is finally above the 50th percentile for weight (she spent her first year below 30!) Baby food must have not been for her, give this girl some real food!!!


We also took her to have her 2 year old pictures made. She did better than I expected. There were times where she got cranky and didn't want to cooperate but all Daddy had to do was hang her upside down and she was good to go (that and the promise of ice cream afterwards!!!) Big Girl Bed

Yesterday Brinley successfully took a nap and slept the whole night in her big girl bed!!! She has been going in there everyday and sitting in her bed so enthusiastically. I was going to wait until I could completely move her in the room, (which means I would have to empty and find somewhere to put all my storage that is currently in that closet!!!) but she took her book into there and climbed in bed for her nap! It was relatively easy making the transition...knock on wood! I think she was glad to have room to spread out (as you can tell in the picture!) My goal this weekend is to tackle the closet and get all her clothes moved into that room so I won't have to walk back and forth between both rooms!

By the way, in two weeks we will get to find out whether we paint the nursery pink or blue...and start the dreaded debate on picking out a name. For those who don't know, Jason and I have a horrible time agreeing on names! It took lots of persuading to get him to like Brinley! So we will see how hard this shall be!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brinley!!!!

Yesterday was Brinley's 2nd birthday! We celebrated with a party with friends and family at our neighborhood swimming pool and park. It was very hot, but a great time was had by all. Brinley loved swimming with all her friends and greeted everyone at the gate with a big "HI"...its like she knew they were there for her! After swimming we headed to the park for cake, ice cream and presents. She wasn't even shy about blowing out her candle! After all the festivities, she took a LONG nap! We are still recovering today and playing with all her new toys (including a play kitchen which she loves!!!)

Brinley, I can't believe you are already 2 years old! You are very energetic and go until you pass out for naps and bedtime! You love to play with your babies by feeding them, wrapping them in blankies and putting them to bed. You would rather be outside than anything else and love to go shopping with mommy (you have even started picking out your own clothes to buy by saying "cute, cute, cute". Astros and 4th of July

Jason won tickets to the Astros game at work last Tuesday night, so we decided this would be the perfect opportunity to take Brinley to her first Astros game (mostly because the tickets were free and we wouldn't feel bad if we had to leave early!) Brinley loved the game! She would clap with everyone and say "uh oh!" when a ball would go foul right by us. The thing she loved the most was the popcorn! She ate half a bag all by herself. Anytime I would try to take some she would say "mine" and cover the top of the bag! We aren't big popcorn eaters so this is one of the first times she has had it! She looked just like a baseball fan sitting,watching the 'stros and eating popcorn!


We spent July 4th with family. We were going to go to the parade but a storm popped up right before, so we spent the morning watching Independence Day with Will Smith...very patriotic!!! Then we went to Jason's Uncle Chris' house for a little while. We then headed to North Shore for a bar b que with my side of the family. After that it was back to Uncle Chris' for crawfish, shrimp, and corn! Our plans were to go see the fireworks that evening at 9:30, but at 8:30 Brinley came up to me and said "bed". She was exhausted from no nap and running around all day! So we came home and put her to bed....she even slept through the neighbors shooting off fireworks in front of our house!!!
